State of Illinois AIM HIGH Criteria for the Huskie Pledge Program

  • Have attended an Illinois high school.
  • Complete an application for the program (NIU has defined combination of Admission application and filing a FAFSA) no later than 12 months from the last date for the school year within which the coursework high school or transfer was completed.
  • Apply to be enrolled for the first time at the public university where the program will be used.
  • Be a resident of Illinois.
  • File a FAFSA and demonstrate need with a household income no greater than six times the poverty level.
  • Be enrolled as an undergraduate on a full-time basis.
  • Have not yet received a baccalaureate degree or the equivalent of 135 semester credit hours.
  • Not be incarcerated.
  • Not be in default on any student loan or owe a refund of a state or federal grant.
  • Meet the program criteria established by the university attended.
  • The renewability of this scholarship is contingent on future state appropriation and funding for the AIM HIGH program
